Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition and placing among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of the events.
